About us

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” -Matt 5:16

The Larman family name comes from the victorian era occupation of lamp lighter. Before the widespread adoption of electric lamps Leeries would travel the streets just before dusk to light the oil lamps so that people could see their way home in the night. This is a legacy of hard work and reliability.

At Larman Woodworks we prize the quality and longevity of our products. Each item is made to order using solid wood construction techniques and finished using traditional finishes to help our products stand the test of time. We take pride in our work, each piece is signed and dated by the craftsman.

More About…

  • All our products are made from solid wood. From the frame and panels, to the slides, pulls, and hinges, every component is crafted in shop. The wood options we offer have been chosen based on their ability to meet physical demands and quality standards. Woods listed on our site are kept in stock for shorter wait times. There are many additional wood options that meet our specifications. If you have questions about wood options or item customization please contact us.

Due to common allergies and health concerns we do not use woods such as Cedar and Reclaimed Lumber.

  • We finish our pieces using traditional methods because we feel it is the best way to provide longevity in our products. Our finishes work by absorbing in to the wood replacing moisture with oil to protect against decay and cracking while providing a natural look. Our finishes are more susceptible to scratches and dents than synthetic finishes. However if a Tung oil or Beeswax finish becomes damaged or worn, it can be refreshed by simply applying additional coat of finish. For most applications Tung Oil is more than sufficient. If you are looking for better protection from moisture Beeswax is recommended.
